About Us
Our journey of compassion and hope
Founded on the principles of compassion, inclusivity, and sustainability, Rural to Action is committed to breaking the cycle of school-age hunger, empowering the youth, and promoting good health in the community. From a teen mothers' mentorship corner in the community led by Beryl and Joseph, our co-founders, and a birthday celebration by Joseph, who gifted 100 children with a cup of porridge to mark his 30th birthday with school children. Joseph and Beryl's compassion and love for impacting lives has ever remained a gift to fulfill. The desire to impact more lives birthed Rural to Action and later registered as a youth-led, community-based organization in Kenya. With the vision and compassion to empower more children and youths has continued to scale.

Inspiring tales of transformation
Get inspired by the remarkable story (My birthday story) of transformation. From a birthday dedication to feeding an everyday nutritious cup of porridge to children.

Tale of a Birthday Story
Thinking of the childhood days, trekking 10km to school, the thirst for education remained a hope for the future. 20 years later was a return to create social impact by visiting a childhood primary school to celebrate the 31st birthday of life with children. Joseph dedicated his 31st birthday to giving 100 children a cup of porridge to serving 350 children with a goal to serve more children by the year 2030. A thought that not only gives a meal but to nourishes a child for better education outcomes.

A Better Education outcome for children
Rural to Action keeps the dedication towards Zero Hunger 2030, good health, and positive education outcomes. This dedication improves good grades, reduces school absenteeism, increases school enrolments, good nutrition among children in rural communities, and improves access to education for all. With your support, we can help provide the resources and opportunities needed for success.
